Rocky Horror Picture Show 2023

By The Henry Konstantinow Studio Theatre (other events)

3 Dates Through Oct 28, 2023

ABOUT ABOUT

Are YOU ready to do the Time Warp again? Come join us for the 6th annual NKU Shadow Cast of the Rocky Horror Picture, presented by the Henry Konstantinow Theatre Series! Running every October, the NKU’s Rocky Horror functions as our biggest fundraiser for the Henry Konstantinow Theatre Series, and an excuse for a great time!

What is a shadow cast? A shadow cast is an ensemble of artists that act out the movie while it is playing. They also serve as the catalysts for the audience cues to participate in callbacks and use their props.

What can I expect? A phenomenal shadow cast, virgin initiations and games at pre-show and…. Audience participation, and lots of it! Audience members are encouraged to shout out call-outs and use the props in their “Rocky Horror Survival Kit” (can be purchased at the door; included with group tickets).

-Please note that all aisle seats will be marked with an X. These seats will have the most interaction with actors; if you are seated in one of these seats, the actors may touch you, sit in front of you, or stand behind you at various points. If you are uncomfortable with this, please swap seats with someone near you! We want everyone to be as comfortable and safe as possible!

Tickets can be purchased in advance ($12) or at the door ($15). We're also offering reserved group seating ($15/ticket, includes "Rocky Horror Survival Kit") to make sure you and your closest pals aren't separated in the audience! Show dates are:

-Thursday, Oct. 26th (preshow @10PM, show starts at 10:30PM)

-Friday, Oct. 27th (preshow @ 11PM, show starts at 11:30PM)

-Saturday, Oct. 28th (preshow @ 11PM, show starts at 11:30PM)

PLEASE NOTE: This show is exclusively 18+. Please bring a state ID to verify your age at the door.

The Henry Konstantinow Theatre Series is a non-profit theatre organization, created to promote an open artist space for students to explore artistically within the realm of theatre and expand their craft. Every show we do is entirely student led, student directed, and student produced. All the proceeds from Rocky Horror go towards our financial support of shows, whether that be helping students pay for their rights, costuming, or set design. We are also proud to announce that in the 2022-2023 season, we established the Brian Robertson Arts Accessibility Grant, which allows prospective directors to apply for additional funds to help cover any remaining costs for their production, keeping the Henry an accessible, inclusive space to all.

Restrictions

-This show is exclusively 18+. Please bring a state ID to verify your age at the door. You will not be allowed into the show without proof of your age.

-We ask that you please refrain from bringing your own props. Our cast must fully clean the theatre space at the end of each show, so the approved props sold in our “Rocky Horror Survival Kits” are the only props permitted. We appreciate your understanding!

-No open containers will be permitted into the show. Again, we are solely responsible for cleaning the space and don’t want any accidental spills or mishaps to occur. Any containers brought into the space must be spill-tight.

- We reserve the right to not allow entry to the show, or removal from the space if you are deemed a safety hazard for anyone in the cast or for your fellow audience members. Rocky Horror is meant to be a fun, welcoming experience for all. We intend to keep it that way. If you are visibly under the influence, you will be barred from entry without a refund.

-This show features explicit content, nudity (film), risqué clothing (shadow cast), vulgar language, lighting effects, and one (1) sweet sweet transvestite from the planet Transylvania.

-Please note that all isle seats will be marked with an X. These seats will have the most interaction with actors; if you are seated in one of these seats, the actors may touch you, sit in front of you, or stand behind you at various points. If you are uncomfortable with this, please swap seats with someone near you! We want everyone to be as comfortable and safe as possible!”
